One Day Acatenango Volcano Hike

Take on one of Guatemala's most challenging volcanoes on this exciting one day trek! We'll start at the base of Acatenango Volcano at an altitude of 1,600 meters (5,250 feet) above sea level and hike uphill for approximately six hours. Your guide will prepare lunch midway through the five kilometer ascent. From our camp near the summit at an altitude of about 3,000 meters (9,840 feet), you will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Agua Volcano to the southeast, Lake Atitlan and Toliman, Atitlan and San Pedro Volcanoes to the northwest, and Fuego Volcano to the south. After a break and photo opportunity, we will hike down to the base of Acatenango Volcano. Estimated time of arrival in Antigua is around 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Depending on the pace of the group, expect to spend on average eight hours hiking in total. Please take into account that you should be physically fit to do this hike, and that the rapid change in elevation may affect your performance.
